\"\"A group of minority pastors is asking employers to adopt a new training program that counters the narrative promoted by Black Lives Matter activists.<\/p>\n

The group, called Conservative Clergy of Color, developed a six-step \u201cGetting to All Lives Matter\u201d in what it calls a fact-based program that operates on the \u201cassumption all Americans want to build a better society.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group wants to offer the program to both government workplaces and those in the private sector, the Rev. Aubrey Shines, founder of Conservative Clergy of Color, said Wednesday at a virtual press conference.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>We have already contacted numerous corporations, simply saying we have an alternative as it relates to this type of divisiveness that we are seeing unfolding, unfortunately lived out, in our agencies. Not just federal agencies,\u201d said Shines, pastor of Tampa-based\u00a0Glory to Glory Ministries<\/a>, or G2G.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are seeing it in the athletic realm, in various corporations that are indoctrinating employees to what we believe is something that has no historical basis, that requires historical revisionists to speak to these types of issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Many corporations, particularly in light of the demonstrations and riots sparked by the May 25 killing of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, adopted\u00a0diversity training\u00a0programs based on \u201cwhite fragility\u201d theories presuming an \u201cimplicit bias,\u201d according to Conservative Clergy of Color.<\/p>\n

Both such training and the lecture circuit on anti-racism issues\u00a0\u00a0reportedly\u00a0has become lucrative for white academics.<\/p>\n

The six steps in the program offered by Shines\u2019 group are:<\/p>\n

\u2014Why the \u2018All Lives Matter\u2019 approach means stronger teams.<\/p>\n

\u2014\u201cHow we get race wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2014How responsible is the media?<\/p>\n

\u2014Fact-based talk on equity and opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u2014What\u2019s working, what didn\u2019t, and what should be tried.<\/p>\n

\u2014Focused minds and open hearts.<\/p>\n

The Rev. Francisco Vega, an Atlanta pastor with\u00a0Awakening and Reformation Center<\/a>, said the conservative clergy\u2019s curriculum will challenge notions of\u00a0 the liberal view known as\u00a0critical race theory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to deviate from the rhetoric of critical race theory, which is now being coined as critical social justice,\u201d Vega said at the press conference. \u201cIt is really embedded through Marxism and European socialistic ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd, really, we need to remember American exceptionalism and all of the one becoming the whole,\u201d Vega said. \u201cI believe that will bring a better perspective of honor and respectability among whites and African Americans and Latinos.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rev. M.J. Reid, of Detroit, said he sees little reason for the divisive narrative that groups such as the main\u00a0Black Lives Matter\u00a0organization push.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that many people that are in corporate America also sit in pews,\u201d said Reid, pastor at\u00a0The River Church<\/a>. \u201cIt is so important that our pastors, especially in communities of color, begin to offer an alternative to the narrative that is being pushed by certain groups [and] we can\u2019t really quantify what [their] goal is besides anarchy and divisiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe purpose of this curriculum,\u201d he said of the clergy\u2019s program, \u201cis to put tools in the hands of leaders [and] anyone who is an influencer, to give the information that will counteract and diffuse this chaotic state we see America go into more and more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shines said his organization has seen \u201cpushback,\u201d but that was to be expected:<\/p>\n

In the words of Booker T. Washington, \u2018There is a group of individuals that need race problems to continue. Why?\u2019 He asks and answers the question. He said, \u2018It keeps them lucrative. It keeps them prominent.\u2019<\/p>\n

We are seeing pushback because we are upsetting the narrative, not because we are pushing an agenda. We are simply saying, \u2018Look at the facts.\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
